Portugal The Man
I have been a fan of the work Portugal The Man has been doing for Indigenous people for years. They provide an incredible platform for our voice to be heard. I’ve been fortunate to connect with the group, giving them Lib-Tech snowboards, small way of saying “thank you” for the work they’ve done. We connected at the Burke Museum in Seattle recently. I was there on a research grant to study their entire Tlingit collection. John Gourley asked me to do the art for their upcoming collaboration. It’s a Teton Gravity Research x Portugal The Man collection. We spent 2 days filming a film piece to highlight Tlingit art, and the history of our people. It was incredible.
Thank you to Smartwool for sending out gear for everyone at the museum!
