Art Institute of Chicago Lib-Tech Snowboard
Lib-Tech Double Dip 22/23 Model - Art Institute of Chicago
The Art Institute of Chicago (www.artic.edu) has been incredible. This past December, I took my first trip to Chicago to visit AIC, and give an artist talk. My friend Andrew Hamilton, curator for the Art of the Americas, has been nothing short of amazing to work alongside promoting my art at AIC. His vision was to show the depth of my work, from the traditional Tlingit pieces like the “Lákt” (bentwood box) on view in their collection, to acquiring my Vans Collection, and also my Lib-Tech Double Dip Model snowboard. His vision was to display the Lib-Tech snowboard in their re-designed Sculpture Court in the Art of the Americas. We have been in discussion about this idea for months now, and this past week the snowboard went on display!

The Art Institute also has the original panel carving of Raven for the Lib-Tech Double Dip graphic. That piece will go on display soon. During my visit to AIC, I also recorded audio for each of my works in their collection. You can listen to audio recordings throughout the museum, describing the work! Thank you again to the entire team at AIC, you all have been incredible! Thank you to Pete Saari (Lib-Tech), and Andrew Hamilton for making this possible.
